We collect minimal data necessary to provide the app's core functionality and improve user experience.

Analytics

We do not use third-party analytics in production versions of the app.

We do not track your location or collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your real name, email, or phone number unless you voluntarily provide it in a feedback survey.

Screen Time & Family Controls

studysesh uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls) to block apps and websites during your sessions.

• Privacy by Design: The specific apps and websites you choose to block are processed locally on your device. We do not send a list of your installed apps or your browsing history to our servers.
• Opaque Tokens: The app interacts with "opaque tokens" provided by the operating system, meaning we cannot see which specific apps you have selected, only that a selection has been made.

2. Device Permissions

To function correctly, studysesh requires specific permissions:

• Local Network: Used solely to discover and communicate with your other devices running studysesh for synchronization. This data never leaves your local network.
• Camera: Used exclusively for scanning QR codes to link devices or join group sessions. No images are saved or transmitted.
• Family Controls: Required to restrict access to distracting apps and websites during focus sessions.

3. Data Storage

Most of your data, including your session history and preferences, is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage technologies (UserDefaults and Keychain).

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for specific functions:

• Tripetto: For collecting optional user feedback and surveys.

5. Children's Privacy

studysesh does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.
